INGREDIENTS
 

  • Oil for deep frying

Dough:

  • 386 milliliters/400 grams buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • cups self-rising flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Filling:

  • These donuts are plain, but you fill them up with whatever you love most using a simple syringe!

Topping:

  • Powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Fill ½ a deep pot with frying oil and heat it up on high heat.
  • Whisk all the dough ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
  • Create a small ball using two teaspoons and add it to the oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden, stirring occasionally. Remove to a plate with a paper towel and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Serve right away.

Yes, but it’s trickier to get the best result. Here’s what you should do: preheat the oven to 400 °F (200 °C), line up a sheet pan with parchment paper and spray oil evenly.
