Camembert Stuffed Pumpkin Pastry

INGREDIENTS
For 2 pumpkins:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 Camembert blocks
- 1 pound/500 gram puff pastry sheets
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
For brushing:
- 1 egg, beaten
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 355 F (180 C).
- Heat up a pan and add the oil.
- Fry the onion with the sugar and water in a pan for about 15 minutes until it is golden and there is no liquid left.
- Place a puff pastry sheet on your working surface and cut out a circle with a knife using a plate as the shape.
- Add ½ of the fried onion at the center of the circle, flatten with a tablespoon and place a Camembert block on top.
- Wrap the Camembert with the pastry sheet and tie with a string as shown in the video.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden. Cut the string after you remove the pastry from the oven.
