INGREDIENTS
 

  • 1 cup pearl couscous / Israeli couscous
  • cups boiling water
  • 1 cup milk / oat milk or any other plant based milk
  • tablespoons/20 grams butter / plant based butter
  • Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a pot, bring the pearl couscous to a gentle boil in water. As the water reduces, introduce the butter and milk to the pot. Stir the mixture and let it simmer over a low heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep stirring from time to time.
  • Once the milk has thickened and the pearl couscous has reached a tender texture, remove the pot from the heat. For a slightly more liquid consistency, especially if desired, you can incorporate an additional ⅓ cup of milk after taking the pot off the heat. Thoroughly combine the ingredients to achieve the desired texture.
  • Serving options:
    Savory: Cottage cheese/cream cheese
    Sweet: Maple/honey and cinnamon
